Wheeler Industrial Corporation, Inc., is currently managed by the third generation copper and copper alloy metal producing professionals. The President and CEO, Paul Coates, is the son of the late Norman Coates, who was nationally well known as the CEO of Volco Brass and Copper Company, founded in 1929, due to the exceptional performance of Volco during the Second World War. Volco's contributions to the munitions supply lines for brass cartridges and shell casings, earned national recognition following the war's end, when our government presented Volco with the coveted "E Award", for Excellence in Manufacturing Munitions. Paul learned the copper and copper alloy business under his father's tutelage, and rose to become the President and CEO of Volco.

Wheeler Industrial Corporation, Inc. was founded in 1990 by Paul Coates, as a greatly diversified product line wire and flat wire mill, to help fill the void left in the copper alloy based wire and flat wire sectors, following the collapse of all of the major brass producing mills in the United States.

Today, WIC is supplying metal to over 90 different market segments within the United States, and proudly exports USA produced mill products globally. Currently, David Coates, the fourth generation family member, is learning the metals business from the factory floor up, under the guidance of his father, Paul.

Wheeler Industrial Corporation, Inc. produces copper and copper alloys in Round Wire, Square Wire, Hexagonal Wire, and Flat Wire. Our wire products are available on spools, reels, coils, cut to length, Acropak(R)*, and barrelpacks. Our Flat Wire "Super Strip" (c) is available with edge conditioning, and can be supplied in traverse wound reels, pancake coils, or also cut to length. In 2004, Wheeler added to its production the following capablilities: Electro Plating in Gold, Silver, Nickel, Tin, and Tin Lead whisper retardant, with a knurled suface finish option.

We firmly feel our continuing success has been assured by a daily emphasis on personal performance, with our focus on customer service and product quality. Our technical team works closely with our customers to find new applications for our many available copper alloys.

Every pound of wire, including Round, Flat, Shaped, and Cold Heading, as well as those wire products manufactured in our UWT division, are carefully checked against ASTM standards in our company laboratories. Spectrographic analysis is used routinely on incoming raw materials. Quality testing includes Grain Size Analysis, Twist Testing, Tensile Testing, Rockwell Hardness Testing, Resistance Measurement, Dimensional Tolerance Measurements (both by micrometer and laser gauges), as well as Visual Appearance Evaluations. We offer full Statistical Process Control reporting when so requested.
